The frigid temperatures in the proceeding weeks enabled it to grow so tall.Burner Art & Places

This is the exterior of the Chateau, a venue for weddings and other events in Kingston, New York. The imagery for this model was captured as a low resolution video shot using a phone while walking around late in the day. It was a quick capture and unfortunately the 1080P video was blurry. Rothfuss Park in Penfield NY. This was imaged in March of 2021 using a drone that was orbiting a me walking along a path from a parking lot, past a pavillion to a playground. You can walk it too. Processing this data has come a long way. This is a Gaussian Splat created with Brush. Multiple YouTube videos show the origins and history of this data. https://youtu.be/PzN9srT7bDY https://youtu.be/24CG_zwQFvEPenfield Corners
The historic Penfield corners intersection in Penfield, New York dressed for the holidays on a morning following a fresh snowfall. This was captured on December 27th, 2025. A GoPro Omni (6 - Hero4 Black camera rig) and a Skydio 2 drone were used to capture video imagery. Davinci Resolve was used to color grade the videos, FFMpeg was used to extract video frames, ExifTool was used to modify the camera make and model in the images, Agisoft Metashape was used to align the 9449 images and to create a low-resolution collision mesh. Finally, Brush was used to train the Gaussian Splat model to 250k iterations.Clark Road Barn - Penfield, NY
This model shows the state of the Clark Road Barn on October 18, 2025. It was under- contract for dismantling/demolishing with the intent to save the main framing timbers. This is a 3D model of Graham Hall (University of North Carolina). The images were downloaded from: https://www.demuc.de/colmap/datasets/ . 1270 of the 1273 photos were aligned in Agisoft Metashape (by trial and error). The collective quality of the imagery is pretty limited due to (1) changing focal lengths that may not all be properly recorded, (2) less than idea overlap of images, (3) a tendency in many places to rotate instead of move the camera, and shooting most all of the photos from the same ground height. More detailed models could likely be created from small sections of the building than from using all of the images as was done here to create a single model of the entire building. Despite all of these limitations in the capture that limit the quality, walking around the model still can provide a good mental visual understanding of the layout. A good physical dollhouse builder could certainly generate a more accurate model though.POrtalBurn Effigy 2024
This is the effigy for POrtalBurn 2024. The artist is Dave Mun.
