This Gaussian splat of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia, Bulgaria was created from a drone video by @aerotraveldji (watch original video here : https://youtu.be/Kzku9iJjT88). I split the video into frames using ffmpeg, aligned the photos with RealityScan and exported the project to COLMAP, then performed training and Gaussian splatting using LichtfeldStudio. The splat was imported, processed, and saved on superspl.at, followed by mesh collision generation in the FJD Trion Model, and finally imported into Arrival Space. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is a stunning Neo-Byzantine Orthodox cathedral and one of the largest Eastern Orthodox churches in the world. Built between 1904–1912 and consecrated in 1924, it honors the Russian soldiers who died for Bulgaria's liberation in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–78. Spanning 3,170 m² and accommodating 10,000 people, its gilded domes and richly decorated interiors make it a must-see symbol of Sofia.
