It is one of Japan's three largest Iwayado halls, along with the Sanbutsuji Temple Nageido Hall in Misasa Town and the Okuin Reido Hall of Ryuganji Temple in Oita Prefecture, and was designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan in 1953. It is said to have been built around 600 years ago, and although Hideyoshi Hashiba burned down the surrounding area during his siege of Tottori Castle, only the Iwayado Hall survived.
