Eiunso (Nationally designated historic site, Hagi highway related ruins, inside the former site of Mitajiri Ochaya) A historical stage where many patriots gathered at the end of the Edo period This official residence was built in 1654 (Shoo 3) by the second lord of the Hagi domain, Mori Tsunahiro, as a place for lodging and rest during alternate attendance and inspection tours of the domain. The seventh lord, Mori Shigetaka, moved here after he retired, and it was named Eiunso after his posthumous Buddhist name. At the end of the Edo period, it became a historic stage frequented by patriots, including the Seven Nobles, including Sanjo Sanetomi, who fled the political upheaval in Kyoto.
