These markers were left behind from days when people used them as calendars and temples. Allegedly, they were even navigation markers to get around from one part of the land the to the other. The knowledge of their other uses is speculative and there are lots of them around the UK and the world. The burial chamber on the stage would have been covered by chunks of quartz crystal rocks (and later turf) and is called Evan's Village (Pentre Ifan). It's located near the quarry for the blue stones of Stonehenge in Preseli, Wales.
