Approximately 500 cherry trees, including Yoshino cherry trees, are in bloom along a 1.3 km stretch of both banks of the Hikiji River. When it is in full bloom, it looks like a tunnel surrounding the river, and many people come from far and wide to take in the spectacular scenery.
