遺骨収集現場付近の地中から発掘された”M4A3シャーマン中戦車”
硫黄島の戦いの最後の方で、日本軍から受けたと思われる弾痕が、車体車体左側面にある。
A heavily rusted Sherman tank wreck sits in a grassy clearing surrounded by low, scrub-covered banks. Its turret and gun barrel remain visible beneath a bright blue, partly cloudy sky.
