Murodo (室堂) Murodo (2,450m) is the central plateau and main sightseeing base of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, famous for its massive spring snow walls.
Mikurigaike (みくりが池) Mikurigaike is Murodo's iconic volcanic crater lake, known for its deep blue water reflecting the mountains. Formed 10,000 years ago, it is 630m in circumference and 15m deep.
A rocky walking trail bordered by rope posts descends toward the blue waters of Mikurigaike, surrounded by low green vegetation and rugged mountain ridges. A small building stands beyond the lake under a clear blue sky.
