Around 2014 Carla Knopp transitioned from traditional painting into virtual world building, using game environments to build immersive environments. Newer processes such as Gaussian splatting lend a fluidity to building these worlds, similar to painting in process and aesthetics. These Hub suites demonstrate 3 approaches for using splats in art-making. "Every nth Frame" is an interactive XR experience utilizing the unique nested hub navigation of the Arrival.Space web platform. Its title alludes to subliminal ideas that surface unexpectedly, like hidden messages in film sequences.
