Around 2014 Carla Knopp transitioned from traditional painting into virtual world building, using game environments to build immersive environments. Newer processes such as Gaussian splatting lend a fluidity to building these worlds, similar to painting in process and aesthetics. These Hub suites demonstrate 3 approaches for using splats in art-making. Its title alludes to subliminal ideas that surface unexpectedly, like hidden messages in film sequences.
